Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Does anyone know any Canadian bonsai potters?? An Aussie living in Alberta owes me a present and suggested a bonsai pot and left it up to me to find one - which is fair enough since I am the enthusiast and she isn't. I have sent an inquiry to the Victoria Island Bonsai Club but thought someone on the forum might know of a good potter.

Hi MelaQuin,
Roger Hnatiuk is originally from Canada and dabbles in bonsai pottery. You might like to email him for any contacts he may have.
Regards,
Steven

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Checked Kitoi out on the net and he's very Pat Kennedy. Seems to specialise in what I call the 'cracked earth' pot. Some are very attractive, no doubt about it, but I would rather support Pat in this instance. I'm fairly sure that if Pat were presented with a photo of a desired Kitoi pot he could pretty well duplicate it.

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Thanks for the vote of confidence 'Mela' but I'm afraid it's misplaced; Kitoi does some things that leave me stumped. Besides, I'm a bit over the 'cracked pot' thing.
See you soon,
Pat

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Hopefully you will stack that truck of yours with enough pots for the show next weekend, and then leave me with a heap to sell to the lovely Ausbonsai members! Have you been busy firing Pat?
Cheers,
Leigh.

Friend Mela, it crossed my mind that you may not have the foggiest notion of what I'm talking about....for clarity, Reiner Goebels is a member here but lives in Toronto, Canada...and he is into pots. Perhaps a PM will get results.
Cheers, Pat

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Thanks Pat, I must admit you left me high and dry. I will check it out. So far no response from the Victoria Island Bonsai Club or the Bonsai Club of Calgary but where there's life and the promise of another pot, there's hope.
Save some pots for the AABC.... I have a sweet little callistimon that is deserving of a Mirkwood home and you know how I love your pots!!!

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Surprised to see my name come up in this topic and that I stumped Pat
My clients or myself haven't gotten over that cracked phase yet.
Here's a link to North American Potters, one may be closer to Alberta than myself

Thanks Mela, see you soon!
Kitoi, many of your pots I've looked at and puzzled over.
Glad you understood 'stumped'....we use it in conjunction with cricket, a strange bat and ball game that can take five days....six days on some occasions, but only folk like Pup and John Tapner (and myself
) would remember that!!!
Cheers,Pat

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
a bit off topic here with the cricket but being an avid player for years and looking into some of the history i am pretty sure games could go on for a lot longer than 6 days if i remember correctly

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
I got a euro check turn up the other day. Maybe I should join you in buying a pot from Europe and save on postage Mela?
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: Canadian Bonsai Potter ???
Hmmmm... first time I knew that Canada was near Europe. Must be similar to Australia being next to the Czech republic.
Postage gives me the pits. Buying a DVD via Amazon and rather than pay $14 postage to Aust I thought I would have it sent to my Canadian friend and she could bring it out. Postage to Canada from the States??? $14... same as halfway round the world... so it came direct to Australia.
