My Azalea
Pretty sure this tree is an azalea "kurume" ive had it for app. 8mths and have just styled it to a sumo style hope you like it...

Now that's how to make a rangy, straight trunked fairly blah tree into something that has heaps of potential and get the emphasis back where the interest is, close to the ground. With small flowers and small leaves it will be a great size and a great start. Is there a bit of reverse taper? Only means you will have to pick your front carefully to conceal it as best you can. Nice start.

Hi Lowlegs. I got a very similar one that I am hesitating to do some work with it as I worry about die-back. To avoid stealing your thread, I'll create a new one to ask for opinion later.

i find that giving them enough room to die back is essential and also the use of cutting paste i use a simple one of non-toxic clay and vegetable oil it works great...
