Informal upright black pine. Sorry about pic. Just wanted to get this one up. Will look good in a few years.

Hi Ed,all nice stuff here...what are you doing with them this time of year?, are you pruning or just needle plucking.Also what fert do you suggest to use both now,and at other times of the year.And finally, what soil medium are they in....sorry to fire a whole bunch of Q's at once,cause I can guess by the pics,you're a busy boy ....Dog.

Im trimming to back bud and get some light into the back part of the branches. You can prune as well. Just fertilise with any sort of fish emulsion, and sprinkle some sulphate of potash just towards the rim of the pots and not close to the trunks. When trimming you should put some cloth over to cover your soil in case some diseases get into it from the needles. Candle pinch, I guess during mid/late spring to summer depending on the individual vigour of your pine. I do this in Sydney. Thats it, I hope it helps you guys out there who are starting out.

Thanks,for that info Ed,I always like to get first hand info on pines, as you would know,a lot of whats written is for northern hemisphere conditions, and not on the money for "down under" ,let alone the differences between Perth/Sydney etc. ....Dog.
