Post by Regan »

I've just dug this today and has got me a bit confused.

foliage looks very similiar to inerme, but trunk and bark don't

is it some kind of variation or something???

I'm sure he will stumble across this thread soon.

I had my doubts about these being cleros, would like to know what these actually are though all the same

I've just been comparing the leaves of this and my inerme and I'm certain that this is a clero of some sort, maybe not inerme but the leaves look very similar.

If it is inerme then mine aren't. Have no idea what it is. The leaves are much larger than inerme

i wish i had a decent camera, looking at the leaves side by side up close, very hard to tell them apart with leaves of a similar size, same markings, lines etc. hold a clero leaf up to a light and youll see what i'm referring to

thats pretty much what is putting me off too, im thinking it could possibly be a hybrid clero of some form though, it looks like there is some roughness to the bark but not corky either. i have noticed on some cuttings i have the younger branches have a not so corky appearance but the older trunk has.

it could be 'Cleodendrum floribundum' which is Noosa's native flower.
