New Bonsai Stand

Post by MelaQuin »

I'm tickled pink with this one as it will take a good medium sized pot.

So what, you're saying, looks just like a standard bonsai stand. You're quite right... but here it is in its former guise...

Picked it up an an Op Shop for $6, had the extended handles removed for $10 and reattached them as legs, sanded, stained the stand with black stain and oiled it. All this for $20. I'm really chuffed. You know the saying... "one man's trash...."
Did it all in the kitchen because I don't have a workroom or tools. Good fun. And the next best thing about it... it is very lightweight but strong enough!!

Very nice - plain, unobtrusive. I personally can't hack the ornate Chinese jobs.

Well done Mel, it takes a good eye to see potential and usefulness. You have loads of that. ;)
