Lovely colours! Mine still haven't started! I will probably have another dud year where leaves just dry up and fall off. But I have my fingers crossed!

Beautiful display Bodhi, you are so lucky down there. None of my trees have even thought about turning yet, most are STILL thumping out growth.

Re: Finally....It's Autumn in central highlands
re deciduous conifers (I'm guessing the question should have been 'conifers' as swamp cypress isn,t actually a cypress - confusing???
- don't forget the larches (Larix sp) absolutely beautiful spring growth. Also Gingko is technically a conifer too, even though it has broad leaves. My larger bonsai gingko is looking great just now but needs a pot. What color suits golden buttery yellow?
Other species have coloured well too - some of the trident maples have quite intense reds this year but the palmatum colours are not so good due to burnt leaves in summer. Trees in the ground and large boxes are still green and growing though.
so deciduous conifers so far:
Taxodium - swamp cypress (maybe a couple of species??)
Metasequoia - dawn redwood (Only rediscovered during last century known from fossil records from ancient times)
Larix - Larches (I can think of 2 sp- L. decidua (Europe) and L. leptolepsis (Asia) might be others)
Gigko biloba - maidenhair tree (another ancient tree known from fossil records and surviving in remote areas of China) Japanese fir?? not sure
Tas sp?? not sure
anyone else...

Thanks for that info Shibui, it will be interesting to see who else comes in with information. Now, about that buttercup yellow Ginko, deep blue i reckon will suit it
