urban yamadori olive 2

Post by anttal63 »

heres another one ripped out of my dads garden. in fact this tree is responsible for the first one having all that movement. the two trees were growing as a twin trunk, with some sub trunks coming off them. ok call it a clump if you like. this tree was obviously the dominant to start with hence why the 1st one bent this way and that way to compete for light. when we finally lifted these guys after a 2 hr session of pick and shovel, i washed all the clay and stone away and realised that this was in fact 2 trees from 2 seeds fusing together at the base. a gentle tug and they came away like butter. thanks got 2 now. heres a b4 shot, same date as the other. :D

Nice character in the trunk... a bit of carving, a bit of growth and it will be a nice tree.

Hey Ant, your olives are the same as mine in respect to the trunks and growth pattern etc. When i was in NSW last weekend and visited a guy that collected Olives around Newcastle, the ones they have there are much more interesting! They have a really great flakey type of bark and a naturaly smaller leaf. Really good material. I have two different types that i collect but neither are as good as the ones i seen in Newcastle. Maybe Penny could post a pic of one of them is she reads this :) please.

pretty sure i told him that one, he was ultra keen to come out with the hardknocksbonsai crew and go to the super dooper dig spot but alas, the land owner did not want any others on the land. lucky us :D

i wish he was here too, i told him a while back. he would be great value here :!:

unfortunately antonio, i was already a student, and the tight little budget i was dealt with did not allow me to travel interstate

but i can assure you that i have the dvd, and am very pleased with marco and that american pine guy, good stuff :!:

i won't be at the brizzy one this year either   i was hoping to meet some of you folk.

i can tell you that lee is canadian, but not a cute little blonde (although i do think you're beautiful lee)
