Gympie, Qld Club Meeting
Hello all, I would like know if there are members on this site whom live around Gympie, Queensland, and areas such as Cooloola, Wide Bay, South Burnett, Cooroy, Pomona, and if so, I would like to tell you about our NEW Bonsai Group ( Club ).
We are a group of Bonsai enthusiasts, from learners to experienced, who get together the last Saturday of each month, to share our knowledge and learn from others, on the subject of Bonsai. We are privileged and thankful to have been given the opportunity to use the facility at Golden City Brick & Landscape, and we are extremely grateful to the manager, Phil Sparks and his staff for this . Phil has OPENED the opportunity for BONSAI enthusiasts in our district, to shop locally, by putting into his stock Bonsai Supplies ( Bonsai Pots-Tools-Accessories and Plants suitable to Bonsai ) both for our group, as well as the general public to purchase, so lets all give him some support to make this work " Both he and we Bonsais-ts will benefit.
We will occasionally conduct hands on workshops and have regular discussions on our individual Bonsai experiences, we can all learn something from each other and we don't have any special rules that have to be followed in regards to how we create our own individual Bonsai. This group is all about "freedom of choice" within BONSAI.... YOU choose the way in which you wish to style your BONSAI, whether you want to follow the Japanese Traditional Rules, or just do your own thing, and there should not be any Personal COMPETITION between members as far as their Bonsai goes....so don't be afraid to bring along your favorite Bonsai Plant to our group get together we are not here to criticize... WE ARE HERE TO LEARN.
Our next meeting is this coming Saturday 26th June, 10 am to 1 pm, at Golden City Brick & Landscape, so please come along and join us. Info at http://www.kinnotobonsaigroup.blogspot.com or Phone James 0409265251 or email to kinnotobonsaigroup@gmail.com .Come take a stickybeak, hope to see you there.

In a sense, Jamie, this is only our second meeting, we will be starting a progression plant on Sat and doing things to it in stages at each meeting, I shall PM you with our agenda, you might have some ideas, would be good to have you come down, you could be a kinda guest speaker in a sense, give us some of your knowledge, will give us something extra to keep people interested and involved, you could bring one of your creations and explain the steps involved in producing it, maybe.
