Gulfstream Bonsai Magazine

Post by Andrew Ward »

My list of international Facebook bonsai mates has grown exponentially over the past few weeks.

One person, Irene Britton, posed the question "Has anyone checked out the USD$5 subscriptions for Gulfstream Bonsai Magazine?"

At just USD$5 it is an absolute bargain. It is easy to join ... visit http://www.gulfstreambonsai.org and follow the subscription prompts and you can pay with PayPal too!!! USD$5 gives you a password and then access to magazines that go back to 2007. At present that is 12 magazines, for about AUD$6 ... 50c a magazine ... it's not even the Lion's Charity Secondhand Bookshop.

I really encourage everyone to take up the offer ... is brilliant, comprehensive and inspiring.

Just shows how the world is really getting much smaller! For people who attended the AABC Convention in Sydney ... maybe Salvatore's comment about bonsai getting smaller is on the ball!!!

I have just checked my emails and Dick Miller from Gulfstream Bonsai Magazine has written:

"Not only is the journal a bargain for a product we are proud of, but the next 2 subscriptions from Australia and you get a free year, and a chance at having a bonsai of yours immorlatized in an oil paiting, see the samples oon FaceBook that Carl Rosner does. He is good and his work is loved by those who had him paint their bonsai."

That adds another 6 copies of the magazine to our memberships ... it is an e-magazine, in full colour ... :geek: and for those of us who still like a paper copy :geek: ... it can still be copied on a colour printer! I know this will be a valuable resource, especially for Tropical Bonsai Enthusiasts ... even people from cooler climates I know will get heaps from it!

On Salv ... 'little, very little'! :P :P :P

We are very lucky, healthy debate and discussion has followed Salvatore's visit ... that more than repays the investment we made in attending the AABC Convention! :D

Please let us know others who are jumping on the Gulfstream Bonsai offer ... the price is less than the cost of a glass of red!!!

I will join up but I need to swap to the $2 bottles of wine for a few days so I can afford it. :P
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Managed to make it to the printer at work today ... prints out beautifully onto A4 and folds in half to become an A5 sized magazine (like WIRED ... just a lot bigger).

Articles are very comprehensive ... and yes ... Jerry is there in print too!!! :D

Good to see that a few Australians are getting on-board the Gulfstream Bonsai Deal.

Having printed my copies out, stapled and trimmed them into hard copy magazines ... (rather than simply e-magazines), I am having a very nice time soaking up the information in them

Enjoy :D :D :D

Hi all' I've been browsing and came across this thread. This offer is still available but first I would like to know what the members who did suscribe think of it. Is it really as good as the above statement. I'm not disputing it might be a great deal - hell you could drop $6 and not bother to bend over to pick it up these days...it's the giving your bankcard details and email address that concerns me. So how about some feedback as to whether it really is a worthwhile magazine and has there been any hickupsdealing with this business. thanks Loretta
