todays gold, crepe myrtle & wisteria trunks
one of the local nursing homes is being bulldozed this week in preparation for a new $17 million wing construction. we asked management if it was ok to check for trees, we were told to have a look, but today was the last day to dig anything out if we wanted as the site was to be padlocked off this arvo with no further entry allowed. this is what i came up with, i will give them a couple of years to regain their health & see where they go from there. i will give the trunks their primary shape and seal them off to help stop disease & dieback. cheers, miyagiman.

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Damn, I was thinking exactly the same thing. I try to recall but all I read and watch this week was bonsai movie clips and bonsai magazineNathanM wrote:picture number 2 is a bit suggestive! Censorship may be needed

I love the root spread of the myrtle. Gold in deed. As to the wisteria, I found the the main problem for wisteria to rot is not having enough water. I studied the place where I dug my wisterias, trunk rot only happens to trees on dry land and the ones growing out of the water in the creek (sitting in the water all the time) has no rots at all.
Cheers

Great material the myrtle will be a ripper very quickly. I agree with Kvan on the wisteria rot can be a real issue with large cuts, good luck with these ones.
