I thought I'd share a Banksia I dug last week, rescued from a future industrial site a guy I know owns.
It is about 60mm across the base.
I've potted into 100% diatomite with about half of the original soil hanging on to the roots.
Soaked the root ball for a day in Seasol and have watered with seasol every other day since.....am I on the right track as this is my first Banksia?

Re: My first Banksia serrata
Just hoping it will survive the summer first Mitchell.
I reckon the left hand large branch is too low so it will probably get the chop and then I will see where it buds back to decide where to go with it.
Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Nice score
You have done good with this one
It will pop new buds all over soon, so I woud keep the seasol drinks for a few weeks till then, and then fertilse slowly
Once the new buds appear and take off you can decide on style then.
I woudl be picking one a lot lower than the current top, and reducing back to that but wait till after it shoots
