Hi James,
We just did a bulk order with our local bonsai club. I was the only one using it, and have persuaded some others to try it. Was te only was I was going to get any! Good luck with your effort to get a bulk order.

Hi James
Last I heard Miadenwell sell a pallet (can't remember how many bags) for $8 per bag so it would be well worth it. You might be able to buy a smaller amount direct from the wharehouse. Good chance they might still sell at $8 a bag.
They ae a bugger making you organise a courier/transport. Not sure how close they are to you but it would be the best option just picking it up direct from them up that way I reckon.

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

gday james
i would be interested in a couple of bags, i couldnt afford any more than that at the moment though. if you get enough interest for it it will be interesting. im sure last time i looked into it from fernlands i think they said a courier/frieght was between $50-$100. i think, not 100% on it though as it was a fair while ago. if you can get bags for $8 like brett says you should get heaps of interest. i wouldnt rule out the brisbane area either as they might be able to bump the order numbers up

Re: Qld Wide Bay Cooloola Purchase of Bulk Diatomite
I got a few bags of Maidenwell Diatomite from James over the weekend. Size 2-5mm. Today I decided to sift one bag to get rid of the dust. I was exceptionally surprised at the small amount of dust that I actually sifted out. My recovery rate was well over 98%. What was left after going through my final sieve (fly-wire) didn't even fill a coffee mug. So I'm very happy with the result. Now to try the stuff for the very first time.
After going through all the topics and replies on Diatomite, I'm hoping for some really good results. I'm only going to use a 50/50 mix with a sifted commercial potting mix to start with, but may up the amount of Diatomite on future re-pots and might even try one or two black plastic potted 'stock' trees on 100% and see how it goes.
Many thanks for picking the stuff up for us James - that was a long round trip you did!
