GUESS WHAT I MIGHT BE GETTING

Post by Loretta »

 :| I HOPE..I HOPE..I PRAY!!! My daughters' partner is giving me 3 10 year old bougs (I will see them tomorrow for the first time) pinks and oranges. I think they are about as thick as your arm. His Mother however MIGHT let me have this one in the photos. It's at her front gate in a big cement thing which will have to be smashed. If I get it I'll want heaps of advice as to how far back to cut it etc.

hi loretta,

In my experience you can cut these babys back to billyo and not hurt them, i cur mine back to stump, cut all the roots off and ripped it out with a maddock leaveing a few main roots and NO root ball AT ALL, and it is going great guns.

These things are bullet proof, so if you take even a little bit of care with it, im sure it will be fine.

my advice would be get it out and cut it back, then let it grow for 6 months, it will shoot from EVERYWHERE, you will have plenty of new branches to choose from.

They are my daughters. I haven't had a cigarette for 8 weeks now...I'm onto the patches and the puffer. The puffer is great but I think I'm becoming too reliant on it...it's in my mouth more often the the cigs were.

yeah i only have a smoke when i go fishing now, which isnt great but better than 10 a day, i wasnt ever a heavy smoker but some is worse than none.

At least witht he puffer it is only niccotene and not carcenogins, although you might be drilling it, at least you havent got the nasties in it.

Believe me, the first week or two is the hardest, and then there is alcohol, that brings it on too, its hard, i quit 4 times before now and i still have one ever now and then when i go fishing, and stuff, the difference is i dont feel the need to have another one afterwards.

different things work for different people. if you want to kick the habit you will.

Wonderful Lorretta :-)

Cut them back as hard as you like when collecting as they will strike backe from anywhere. If you can get some good roots as recovery will be quicker with them

Post lotsa photos when you do collect them please :-)

ass for the smokes, as for another givver upper ( 2.1/2 years now) :-), You should start to fell less need now of the substitutes, but do not fret about them. The trick is to make yourself active so you do not get the mind wanders and cause cravings.

Enjoy and good luck

Got them all potted sunday afternoon, most of the "thicker"roots were rotted through and just pulled off in my hand...but the few feeder roots could show some promise. I will certainly post photos of them when I get time. I got 2 with fairly decent trunks around 40 - 50cm circumference and 4 other smaller ones. I hope they all survive or I might have to have a smoke!!!!

Loretta.
