Cherrys from seed question

Post by Istari »

Heya folks,

My girlfriend just asked me a question and I haddnt a clue on the answer, I was wondering what type of cherry would produce the seed that leeds to a pink blossum?

We are thinking about growing a tree from seed (really enjoy seeing the whole picture) and were wondering where to being.

Cheers,
Isty.

I have a "Prunus Okame" = Japanese Flowering Cherry, I purchased form Ray Nesci Bonsai nursery as a Starter Tree last year for an experiment
His starters are $3.50 and are almost like growing from seed :-) but at least you don't have to wait

Mine are in flower now, so if you can get to nursery you shodu see some to pick the right ones :-)

Ken

Edit, PS forgot to add I woud have no idea where to get seeds from, Ray grows all his from Cuttings
