Bottlebrush Captain Cook
I bought this at Bunnings the other day and would like some opinons. Should I pot it up a size or put it in the ground. I don't want a great big thick trunk as I have to be able to lift these pots from time to time, so don't want something too heavy. It's a nice size now and would love to put it in a nice bonsai pot, but in doing that I'd have to cut the roots back. Seeing as it's full of buds I don't think that would be a good idea. The mix it's in now, if dry, is as light as a feather so I don't think there's much sustinence in it. Should I just pot it up a size with the least interference and add some nice healthy mix to it till it has finished flowering???

If you want, enjoy the flowers now, and then pot up after.
In the meantime, Find the "line of the trunk" and decide on the future styling
