Post by walko »

I am planning on doing some air layering on a large fig that has sat in the little nursery at my workplace.

as i have never done it before my question is, is there a limit to the thinkness of a branch intended to be air layered?

There is no limit on the size!

I did airlayer on a microcarpa last year and the trunk is 20 cm (8 inches)and the tree is fine now .

Cheers

Hi

You should be able to air layer any size branch you like.

Good luck :)

A fig of any size shoud be fine, but harder trees ( eg Pines ) can be variable in sucess when the branches get large
