Calling Melb Dig Volunteers

Post by Webos »

Looking for recruits to help dig a big Japanese Maple sometime in the next week or two. I have started the work and it was backbreaking. The day disappeared fast and I was maybe 1/3 into it and had to pack up and go. The tree really needs to be out of the ground soon as it is just starting to leaf out and the block will be demolished in the summer.

So if anyone is up for some hard diggin to help get this beast out of its present home in Northcote, let me know and I'll make sure I bring a 6pack to share 'round.

This weekend is no good for me. Got work on Mon, Tues, Thurs. Snowboarding on Wed...So I'm thinking Early Friday Morn or next weekend.

Thanks

How'd ya go with the Yew Jarrod? Me and Gerard fought hard and won against the beast. Tree is now in the back of the car ready fr its roots to be cleaned up and then planted in the garden for a year or two to recover from the onslaught that was today.

The beast was beaten, but Webbos and myself are cut out of the picture because we were also beaten.
We made a fine pair puffing and calling for a break every 5 mins (got to get fitter)

Heres another pic... presently stands at 115cm. Will see how it shoots over the next couple of years and try to get it down to a more manageable size (and weight!)
