My little Baekea was purchased about a year or two ago from Ray Nescis. He had quite a few of them and all looked similar, just a mass of tangled bush. I bought one and havent touched it until today. It reminded me so much of the Aussie bush.

Nice stock, I got one o f the same thing from Ray about 3 years ago that looked basically the same as yours. It's had it's styling and is looking really nice now as a kind of African broom style tree as I like to call it. I've found that there pretty hardy since I've nearly killed it twice but has ccome back even stronger each time.

Start bringing it down so the foliage is much lower. It will take a bit but it will look nicer and much older when it is more compact but it is telling a nice story with those trunks. Good basis to make a good bonsai.

Hugh, I think youre right about the three years ago from Ray. I think I bought it around that time.
Mel, at the moment the folliage is pretty brittle and Im trying to backbud down abit more. I want the main branches not to be down but more curving upwards like Australian trees but then the tertiary branches would be the ones that hang slightly down wards or horizontal. This would be consistent with depictions of Australian trees and bush in my mind.
