acer palmatum first styling advice

Post by simonm »

hey, i have had this Japanese maple for around a year now and i recently wired it.
i have been debating whether to cut off all of the lower branches and grow the top branches down, or keep them all and keep it as clump/broom style.

Any idea's on what i should do?

, Hi Simonm, i think it would be a good idea to plant into the ground or a large grow box, to start thickening the trunk, at the moment it's really just a sappling.good luck,,,,,Craig
