Re: Oak Problem
When you dug it up dig you get enough roots? Was it in leaf already? Did you put in sun or shade? did you protect from wind? did you mist the foliage?Deemon wrote:another pic.

Re: Oak Problem
Dug it a week and a half ago, I think I got enough roots, is a big stump - 5 inch at base. It's now in a massive terracotta pot. The leaves you see came with it.When you dug it up dig you get enough roots? Was it in leaf already? Did you put in sun or shade? did you protect from wind? did you mist the foliage?

Was in full shade for 1 week, now part shade until late afternoon. Might have gotten some wind as it was very windy after it was potted, but not hot wind.. Did mist but not everyday. Seasol bi-weekly.
Looks like there might be some buds coming out, should I take current leaves off or just leave them be if the bubs come out ok?
Thanks for the help Grant!!

Re: Oak Problem
Leave all the current leaves on. They will help suck water out of the pot and get the roots going. New leaves should be OK and will not burn.Deemon wrote:Dug it a week and a half ago, I think I got enough roots, is a big stump - 5 inch at base. It's now in a massive terracotta pot. Leave in the pot undisturbed for about two years before you do anything drastic to it like carving or cutting more roots.
Grant.

The Callistemon is still not in flower yet. Going by last year it was in full bloom in late November/early December.
