hi guys

just wondering if anyone knows this tree and if its suitable for bonsai

im quite fascinated with the inverted flowers that looks like white bells

Hi
We have a similar looking plant in the creek next to us. If it is the same it flowers abundantly after rain. They come in a veriety of colours. All parts of this plant are toxic if eaten.
The plant I am talking about is an Angels trumpet plant.
I don't think it would make a good bonsai as I don't think the leaves would reduce.

Thanks fiona... Even not for bonsai i would still love one

the only worry would be if my dog ingests any then that will be bad news

These plants hail from South America and are n the same family as the tomatoes,potatoes and petunias. They need plenty of water and their limbs are easily broken.

Apart from the downside they do look lovely when in bloom and I believe that you need to cook the plant for it to release its poison.

Have a hunt on the internet and you will see it comes in other colours.

Thats brugmansia, they like to be pruned hard if you let them grow unchecked they tend to be fairly short lived, down here anyway.
