Ideas for Pot

Post by Craig »

Hi all, I've recently started the hard task of deciding on a new pot for my Elm, i have some ideas of my own, but would very much like the opinions of people who like this tree..The original oval blue pot was 320mm wide by 230mm and a depth of 40mm. It looked ok in the blue pot but not really an ideal pot for the tree.. I'm keen to hear any options-eg; slab, oval, round ,deep, shallow, colors. I'd like to get something handmade by someone here in Australia also  .I'll post a few pics- the zelkova broom(not mine-but an awesome tree)- this tree is potted so it represents a single tree in an open space- this is the "feeling" i would like to portray with my tree/pot.i like the pot also.. The 2 pots are what i would like the pot to be made like, appearance not style. and the last is a slab- if the slab had a finish like the green pot, i think i would be close to the right pot for my tree. Plse tell me what you're thinking :?: ps- i forgot ny tree pic,,,,.

I like the free form better than the drum, as the drum pot, appears far to heavy for the tree, may be a shallower one might work. The free form needs to be shorter.

I'd send PatK a message and ask him if he can make a pot for it. I reckon a dark oval personally. I am not a fan of free forms pots, and the drum, as pup has stated, is much to heavy for the tree.

Hi Craig,
I like the one in your avatar, same shape mabe a touch darker, I also like glazed pots for elms.
Actually is that the current pot blue/green glazed oval?
If so I like it.
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Do not like the one on the slab :-(

What about the Freeform moon?

the drum pots look far to Masculine for this tree.. Something Round but much more delicate is needed

Hi Craig,
I'm with Pup. I would go for a similar pot to your avatar however if you could get on with one with a few cracks around the edges I think that it would match the 'lightning strike'.
