Just moved to the Hunter Valley from FN Queensland and i'm wondering if anybody knows of any bonsai nurseries around the Hunter Valley area ?
Or of any Bonsai club around Singleton area.

If you find any new ones then please update the thread.

I think some of the hunter locals will be able to help you with clubs and stuff as I know of one in Gosford but not further north

Hey there,

there is a club that meets at Mt Hutton in newcastle proper but not any out your way as far as I am aware. Dave54 is at Maitland & has a few small gatherings... maybe drop him a pm if you dont want to come all the way into Mt Hutton. The club meets 2nd sat in the month, 8th of jan will be the next one, tho will be very few there.

Was just reading about the african olive problem along the road sides in the Hunter region and the efforts to kill them all off ... forget about the bonsai nurseries, hit the road and get a few free 100 year old olive stumps while you still can ;)

Most of it, if you scan the sides of New England Hwy your bound to find patches of them pretty quickly & thats without getting into back roads or private property... If olives are your interest theres a couple club members to talk to as they are also keen on them... not for me thanks.

Forgot to mention, as far as bonsai specific nurseries nothing before sydney that i know of. The old Bibo nursery at Peats Ridge has been closed for a while but Andrew still has some stocks. he has a thread up in the sales forum.
