i reckon the needle juniper pheonix graft has good potential. as it ages and moulds more , maybe carve the deadwood a bit more and bleach to expose the live vein which has some nice movement , you will also need to thin the bottom out as i believe for now there are too many branches low, this dosent need to be done now just at some point, you should have further space between your lower branches than the top ideallly giving that impression of age maybe jin one or two when the tree is older.

Hi noah78 , trying to fatten the little buggers up and as you say use some of the lower branches for jins later on , just sacrafice branches at the moment .I hope the plants spread out over the stump as they were recessed into the dead wood the thickness of the trainers trunks, not quite deep enough but next time i will know better .Now that the style is set i will put it into the ground for a season or two , just spread the roots and let it grow . I may have to put a few stainless or solid brass screws in the lower section for permanent anchors as they are pushing out of the grooves .The top 150mm of the apex is only the plants themselves and have began to fuse together so its well on its way .Cheers Alpine
