Why not buy some casuarina tube stock and grow one in the same style, when they are young casuarina can be tied in knots with a strong wire.
Great inspiration

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Being from around Canberra, is the pic from the area? If so I'd guess that it is Cunningham, there's plenty of stock at the Yarralumla nursery, grab some they grow really quick too! I have about 20 on the go.

Great pic of the tree, Davo.
Getting that lovely twist in the trunk will be interesting.
The tree in the photo seems to start with the original trunk, which then laid over, losing most of what had been there. Then there was the one branch that survived and it was laid over in a later flood. It has produced some aerial raft trunks off the 'leaning over water', once was a trunk and then once again was a side branch.... :palm: :tu:

All in all a fascinating, complex composition. Good luck!
