Casurina

Fishing down the river the other day I came across this one and thought you might be interested. I love it and im going to style one of my junipers like this.

Why not buy some casuarina tube stock and grow one in the same style, when they are young casuarina can be tied in knots with a strong wire.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Being from around Canberra, is the pic from the area? If so I'd guess that it is Cunningham, there's plenty of stock at the Yarralumla nursery, grab some they grow really quick too! I have about 20 on the go.

Yes its in the murrumbidgee near uriarra crossing.

And I think ill take the advice and go and get some tube stock and start from scratch.

Great pic of the tree, Davo.
Getting that lovely twist in the trunk will be interesting.
The tree in the photo seems to start with the original trunk, which then laid over, losing most of what had been there. Then there was the one branch that survived and it was laid over in a later flood. It has produced some aerial raft trunks off the 'leaning over water', once was a trunk and then once again was a side branch.... :palm: :tu:

All in all a fascinating, complex composition. Good luck!
