Camilliea's Chances

Hi All,

Just wanted to know what everyones experiances are with a harshly root pruned camiliea?

I went away for the weekend and it just so happened to be the same weekend a nest of ants (big ones eg 1cm long) decided to move into my camilliea's pot. To make room for their nest they thought it would be ok to remove almost all of the feeder roots leaving just a rootball no larger then the size of my fist (didnt have much in the way of a nebari anyway)

Its dropped almost all of its leaves in the stress and mixed with the heat from the week before last Im not overly confidant that it will make it. I've repotted it back into a deeper pot (ground is not an option for my appartment) given it a strong dose of seasol and keeping the soil damp in the hopes it will come back to us.

I'll take pictures later tonight but it looks in really bad shape. I was just wondering if anyone had any similar success stories with cammys?

Just smile and wave Istari. .smile and wave. You have done all the right things and just wait and see now. Camellias are touchy at the best of times.

yeah i think its headed that way, checked it this afternoon and theres not a green leaf left on it, just a thick stick in the ground. perhaps its for the best if it did go to bonsai heaven. Its a long way from perfect, should it survive it will go through a world of pain under my command
