The tree was collected two years ago and suffered a couple of setbacks, the last being the Sydney heatwave despite special care. But Christmas Cheer is made of stern stuff and it is coming good. The styling plan was to lower the foliage to cover the branch ends and minimize the visual spread of the two leaders. The area in the crotch where branches were removed has been carved to look like natural decay and the wood has been treated. It is a prolific flowerer and is developing a mass of buds for spring. In a couple of years this will be a stunning tree with a trunk and nebari to lust after.

I am going to be at Bonsai by the Harbour and the Ideas Summit. A transfer can be arranged at either site if anyone interested is coming to Sydney for either of those events or knows someone who is coming to Sydney from their local area. The tree has been in the pot for months and is quite solid for travel.
