[SOLVED] Unknown Native? Want to Collect

Post by Ryan1979b »

HI All,

After an expert opinion, I have attached some photos of a tree that I wish to collect. Not sure weather it is a Westringia or at Tee Trea but would love to know. Also if you have had any experience in collecting these, what is the likely success rate. The tree I have found seams to have some horizontal roots close to the surface, similar to the little one in the photo but will be a lot larger. But Iknow it will have a fairly large tap root which will have to be chopped. its going to be a Literati Style as the tree has som very nice scares and natural bends in the trunk.

Anyway photos of the luttle sample species for identification.

hi mate,

I had a couple at my old place that were pretty massive, I took to them with a chainsaw to get them down and a little more managable so I could use my ride on mower, they were covering the grass to much. it bounced back quickly from that and was in full foliage around a month and a half to two months.

I think aslong as you get some good roots with it you would be fine, westringia are tough trees.

Solved---rosemary.
