Melaleuca collected
hey all, i collected the melaleuca a few weeks ago from the side of the road i didnt have my camera with me at the time otherwise i would have got some pics of the roots and i potted it up there and then. Just thought i'd put it up because i think it has great potential for a literati? i know alot of people aren't keen on that style here because they say it isn't done properly but i'm confident that this tree has the right stuff for it.

You will be able to make a nice literati out of that one Methinks. Otherwise cut back hard and regrow
Check out the Literati comp trees from last year and see if they help

Re: Melaleuca collected
hi mate, literati could work if you get some heavy bending in but they will never really match the base as curves dont create ragged
I would go with shohin for sure, or even a little taller, the lower section has very good movement right from the base to the straight section. I would break the straight section off a few inches up from the movement and get it shooting back hard (do a little research on this to make sure this one will shoot back). I think a year or two in a grow box or in the ground will thicken it nicely and you could have a nice smaller tree with lovely movement in a couple of years. I will try get a virt done for you today if I can
