Hi Aus Bonsai readers.
I have this Atlantic Cedar that has started to push out heaps of new growth and I am unsure what to do with it all. I was wondering if I should pinch out the new buds with my fingers, cut them, or leave them for now? If I am to pinch out the new buds, is this the right time to do it? I have very little experience with conifers so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Cedar help please

Hi Busta, For the leaf buds let them extend a little then pinch them in half. Your tree could also develop cones at this time of year and they should be removed as soon as you can recognise them as they are at the expense of new growth and will weaken the branches.
