Hi all,
Just a reminder that the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia is closed until Saturday the 17th of September.
The park that we are located in is closed for about 3 and 1/2 weeks for the final installations before Floriade 2011. Floriade runs from the 17th September till Sunday the 16th of October in 2011.
When we reopen we will have 6 new bonsai on loan from Victoria on display. Of course that means that 6 much loved bonsai from Victoria have to go home to make space for the new ones.
Cheers,
Grant

Yesterday Leigh and I pulled up a number of very heavy 600 x 400 pavers that had risen or sunk over the last year and re laid them. We then re grouted(sand) the whole paved area in preparation for Floriade.
Repotting has been done on all the Deciduous trees but on Friday we repot the monster. The big Taxodium group. We have about 10 people coming in to help and observe.
We shall photgraph the proceedings and post a thread.
Then comes the Cedars etc. Lots of work for Floriade but also lots of continuing maintenance.
But yes a short holiday for me before we open the gates to an expected 60,000 people over the 30 days of Floriade.

Hi Grant,
Sorry I missed you when I visited last week. I will watch that repot with great interest after having spent a good while admiring your "monster" group.

Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.
