Pinus Nigra Bark Identification

The bark is typically silver/white with the black outline in the fissures , the Nigra Nigra is along side a frequented gravel road so the true colour is not shown here .All have a wafer thin large plate type bark with multiple layers .From a young seedling / tree under 5 years it is similar to a paper bark being very soft and pliable.

Once again very helpful indeed Alpine!!
This has helped me to ID a Pinus Nigra Austriaca in a near by suburb.
It may be a little late, but I am going to try a cutting from it. Do you know if they strike from cuttings?
Will put up a pick for confirmation next week. Should I pm the pic to you, or is it ok to post it here?

Hi Dario , glad it was helpful . I have tried cuttings using various methods but have not had any success . They can remain green for up to 14 months and even sprout new needles from a shoot but no success and rooting the actual cutting . By all means post a pic of the tree , bark , growth , needle .
