I'm sure it will be a great show.
I hope to beat Gerard to the trading table to snap up the good bargains.

I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Have money before I go. Have a lot less after I've been.

Cracka Show BSV !!!
The standard of trees here in Victoria hold the bar and lead the way for Australian Bonsai!!!
I noticed alot of significant trees were not present this weekend.Im guessing they are getting prepared for the AABC next year. Yes we are talking the the AABC here in Melbourne next Year 2012, Month of May...The must do BONSAI EVENT on everyones bonsai calander. This is where you will see the best trees in the country, undisputably!!!
Oh BTW That yamadori Maritime Bunjin was the ducks arse of the show !!!

Re: Its On! Box Hill, This Weekend
I'm an absolute NOOB when it comes to this site, bonsai, and gardening in general.
But this is what totally excites me about this!
I stumbled across the website whilst researching bonsai (I was recently given two plants - with no other instructions than to keep it alive!)
After finding out about the show in Box Hill I was pumped to get the chance to see some in the green!
I was down there first thing, saturday morning. I spoke with a few of the friendly folks down there with the "Ask Me" badges on.
Was advised to buy a beginners book, which seems very thorough. And also a toolkit, which seems to have all the essentials.
I took some photos of the day, and will post them when I get the chance.
Just saying hello and I hope to speak with you all and learn a lot more about the fascinating world of BONSAI!!!

Welcome Addosh and you are lucky to have the Quality of trees available to see. They do make one strive for the better
I dunno whether Ant is correct in saying the Melb has the best Bonsai in Aus tho. That sort of talk does no one any favours except scratch some egos
.
I think we have some awesome trees all over this country and the quality of the trees an Displays is improving every year due to the efforts of many
Congrats to BSV on a great show?
