Thirsty Mels

Post by cre8ivbonsai »

Hi All, last week while on holiday, we visited Fraser Island (largest sand island in Australia, nay, the world). While there we stopped at Lake McKenzie, a unique freshwater lake with crystal clear water due to an acidic ph of about 3.7 which prohibits a lot of inhabitants. (for more info ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraser_Island). This perched lake has been expanding at faster rate due to the recent couple of years above average rainfall. This has left two particular Melaleucas wading in the shallows, not sure how long they will last, but they certainly offer a surreal vision.
Cheers, Ryan.
