Hi guys
my juniper squatama has some branches 12 inches long and the foliage only on the last 6 inches I want the make the branches shorter and bring the foliage back closer to the trunk what the best way to try and get the branch to back bud ?

I cut back, very hard two Squamata in winter. They are both back budding well.

As you have been told they will take cutting back hard. I always leave some foliage at the end of the branch/twig, so there is a reason for the sap to flow to that point, and keep it alive, while it builds strength and buds back.
