My attempt at developing a dynamic fig

Post by Hornet »

Her is one of the ficus cuttings i split in order to create a dynamic fig quickly going by the tutorial. I cant remember when i did it, approx a month and a half ago at a guess. Checked a few the other day that had rooted but didnt take pics so thought i'd get pics of this one today. Not a complete success as you can see it hasnt rooted from the lower portion of the trunk which has rotted off but where it has rooted its rooted well right around the trunk.

It's still got a good spread of roots right around the trunk, so in time they will fatten up. I'd call that a success so far!

Hi John,

I would use a shallow but wider growing pot as well.

Cheers.

Cheers guys, i have potted it into a slightly larger pot, once roots start to show out the bottom i'll repot into a shallower pot to start developing the roots better
