just dug up a few azaleas from the back yard the last few weeks, there are 5 all together with one still in the ground waiting to be removed when i get time to. they are ranging from 15 yrs to 30yrs old.

Hi Hugh grant , mate there is nothing like hauling plants out of the ground to start the progression into bonsai trainers .I need to get my act together and hack a few out myself ..

yes i was really surprised by them when i dug them because before i cut them back they were just covered in suckers from the base so i didnt know what was underneath.kcpoole wrote:Love the second onebut they are all quite nice

not sure what the variety's are but i know that pic 1 and 4 are pink and pic 3 is white but i cant remember if 2 is white or pink, ill have to wait and see

here is the last one i dug, probably the best one of the lot complete with hollows and a great nebari. its roughly about 10 inches across at the base and guessed to about 30 yrs old.
