New Japanese Maple

Post by Gerard »

I picked up a new Japanese maple yesterday, it is a little big for bonsai but given a few years I might come up with something nice.

I don't mind big trees :tu: :tu: you could lower the trunk an start another leader if you want a smaller tree. I like the gentle bend in the trunk the tree has great potential good find :hooray:

Hi gerard,

If you are unsure about what type of bonsai to make from this specimen I would suggest you let the tree just grow and produce seed that you can capture to create more maple bonsai. It is almost as much fun as ramification work. :tu:

Cheers,

Brad75.

Since when did you lose the interest for large trees  I reckon it will make a stunning tree. I will help you lug it around :tu:
