ENGLISH ELMS
Hi All
Had a very nice weekend finally purchasing some english elms. I went to a nursery just outside of Daylesford belonging to Bodhidharma ( who is a member here).
I was amazed at all the lovely trees and how well they were looked after.
He walked me on a personal guided tour of his establishment.Along the way astonishing me with his knowledge of each paticular species.
Being a beginner I have visited ever Bonsai nursery in Melbourne this is by far worth the trip ....beautiful countryside and amazing prices whatelse could you ask for when looking for that special tree. I am sure
Bodhidharma nursey would have something for evey bonsai fan .Thanks again for your help and shared knowledge .( p.s keep that special English Elm aside for me one day when i win the lottery i'll be back to purchase mate).

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: ENGLISH ELMS
Nice Chris!
I love English Elm and the one you got off Gerard looks like one of the two he entered in the shohin comp.
Love your bench too!
I am about to build a bench and so I am researching them a little. I am curious as to the depth of your bench...from the back of the fence to the front of the first lowest level, what is this distance please?
Cheers, Dario.

Re: ENGLISH ELMS
Hi Meagi, and thanks for your reply!
Sorry, I didn't quite understand though
Cheers, Dario.

Being that you used 6 planks in total, does that make the entire bench around 2.5 metres in depth (from front to back)?Meagi wrote:Hi width is 400 mm

I think we have unleashed a Bonsai monster. The backyard takeover has begun.
