ENGLISH ELMS

Hi All
Had a very nice weekend finally purchasing some english elms. I went to a nursery just outside of Daylesford belonging to Bodhidharma ( who is a member here).
I was amazed at all the lovely trees and how well they were looked after.
He walked me on a personal guided tour of his establishment.Along the way astonishing me with his knowledge of each paticular species.
Being a beginner I have visited ever Bonsai nursery in Melbourne this is by far worth the trip ....beautiful countryside and amazing prices whatelse could you ask for when looking for that special tree. I am sure
Bodhidharma nursey would have something for evey bonsai fan .Thanks again for your help and shared knowledge .( p.s keep that special English Elm aside for me one day when i win the lottery i'll be back to purchase mate).

well on my way to some nice elms Also had to make a new Bench this weekend still needs paint and sanding of the red gum planks and varnish .......................To be continued!

Nice Chinese elm it too how long and where did it come from.
Also like the last english elm too that will be a nice tree quite soon

ps I have not met Bodhi myself, but cannot wait till I do.

My Chinese elm came from baloc nursery near my house
He to has some nicely developed trees.

Love your bench too!
I am about to build a bench and so I am researching them a little. I am curious as to the depth of your bench...from the back of the fence to the front of the first lowest level, what is this distance please?

Hi width is 400 mm I found a place near Hepburn springs with cheap red gum

Being that you used 6 planks in total, does that make the entire bench around 2.5 metres in depth (from front to back)?

No
400m x 3 shelves is about 1.2 m

Update on my little stump thought top half was dead but today I noticed with warm weather it has given me two EE shoots right where I wanted them took about a month of wishing very pleased

Finally got my shade cloth on my stand

Now just need to paint all the recycled timber cost next to nothing to build just screws and shade cloth
