Collected a day before Christmas 2007. It was 3 metres in height and a lot of layers where taken off it.

I've had one for many many years now and although it seems nigh on impossible to kill it hardly grows either!
Funny as I see them flourishing naturally in some of the most awkward locations but give it some care and mine struggles!
Hi Boics, they respond to lots of pruning and defoliating. I give it good care with lots of food and water. You need to open them up regularly to let the light in for back budding. Keep your eye on this post as this will give you a good guide of the trees vigour. I have taken a LOT off this tree to get a good response. Full sun is also a must.
I have now trimmed the tree vigorously and selected a new leader (only branch left at the top of the tree) and pulled it into place. I will now wire everything into place and then see how it balances out. It has set the tree back a lot but, as with everything we do, It is creating a story that will accompany the tree into its future incarnation. I love story's.
