A stumpy Berberis and lovely Autumn colour.

This is an old Berberis i have had for a while and was dug up on my property. Planted by the previous owner in the early Seventies so has a bit of age. Only dug about five years ago and i have been developing it since then. Trying something new with the leader and i have developed three to reduce down to one (of course). I didnt want to lock myself in with the selection and make the mistake of getting it wrong so, something new in the way of developing a tree. Sort of try before you buy. I am starting to opt for the lowest one although the top also has interest. The middle one is out of the running i think. What do you reckon. Beautiful colour and very early.

wow Very nice bodhi! I love it. Great colours, awesome pot and very beautifully displayed I must say. I love the direction you are taking with it. I don't have much thought on the direction, but I love the look of the bottom branch, and the feel this creates.

I would tend to head towards full cascade ... but hears some food for thought ...

Thanks for the virt Ryan I will leave them all on for a while, doesnt hurt and i am still undecided. Yes a T.W pot, i swapped him for a stump. Love bartering.

Hi Boics, the tree fits in the palm of my hand and Trevor had the perfect pot for it. They were meant for each other. in answer to the p.s I am no longer replacing stock as it is inevitable that i will one day close. I turned 63 this year and i have a whole lot of other stuff i want to do. Nobody who is hooked on Bonsai (me) ever gets out but i will keep a hundred or so trees to see if i can get that masterpiece in this lifetime.
