I have 6 of these little Paperbarks of various sizes. I was told they are Melaleucas Bracteace(??) but can not confirm that myself… so I'm asking for some assistance in identifying them.
So far they have all been kept alive

Thank you for your time.
There are callistemons with paper bark.Naimul wrote:im pretty sure callistemons dont get the papery bark at all. its a little hard to make out the bark from those photos. not sure what species of melaleuca it would be though, the only species im familiar with is quinquenervia
This is one of the reasons for the nomenclature change. Which has been excepted in some states, but not others adding to the confusion.bonsaibuddyman wrote:There are callistemons with paper bark.Naimul wrote:im pretty sure callistemons dont get the papery bark at all. its a little hard to make out the bark from those photos. not sure what species of melaleuca it would be though, the only species im familiar with is quinquenervia
If you look at the bottom right of your picture you will see a nasty that is probably causing the problem.CoGRedeMptioN wrote:
And some have this ... Stuff (looks like white spots) on the leaves. At first I thought I had some kind if grub glueing the new growth leaves together but I haven't seen any critters on them at all. Leaves seem to get eaten from within and then die back...
Any ideas what might cause that? How do I beat it?
Cheers

Sorry, but I don't see it unless you are referring to the white spots … but this blind bat can't see any creepy-crawleys that might be gluing the leaves together… and I've been visiting them like 'a Ninja' every morning.Pup wrote: If you look at the bottom right of your picture you will see a nasty that is probably causing the problem.
Cheers pup
The leaves on the 'CKS' look almost twice as long as the ones on my trees. Would that be because of the size and or age of my tree? My leaves are barely 30mm long...Pup wrote: I have a Callistemon kings park special that has the same bark and leaf shape. Post it last week in Callistemon page.
Cheers pup
Kings park special was bred to have smaller leaves and flowers.CoGRedeMptioN wrote:Sorry, but I don't see it unless you are referring to the white spots … but this blind bat can't see any creepy-crawleys that might be gluing the leaves together… and I've been visiting them like 'a Ninja' every morning.Pup wrote: If you look at the bottom right of your picture you will see a nasty that is probably causing the problem.
