Re: Juniper restyle
Looks better...Remember you have to wire the bones of each primary branch like on any deciduous tree first and set it. From there You go cutting short the shoots to make the top of the pad.
I ask lots of questions that sound like suggestions. Please remember I am a inquisitive newbie trying to figure out why You made a particular decision, in order to learn.

Re: Juniper restyle
Hey Kez,
Nice result so far. I like where this tree is headed.
Have you considered removing the lowest branch and bending the second branch down much lower and growing secondary branches out to create multiple pads? Would make the tree look much older IMO.
Regards,
Mo

There are many ways to do things, but only one "best" way.

Re: Juniper restyle
Cheers mo,
I hadn't thought of that, I like the idea but what looks to be a second branch in the picture is actually made up of the lowest back branch and a small interior branch, the photo makes it look like 1 branch.
I might get a side photo to help as my photography skills (lack of) are leading people astray!
Once again thanks for the comments
Kez

Neli! Thanks so much for that article/blog post! I've been wondering how to style these junipers like that for a while but haven't found any supporting guidance..
Can't wait to put it into practice
