Hi Neli, it was the only style i could come up with "clump style" seems to sum it up. If there is no such style listed then i am going to proclaim it "Bodhi clump style"

. I'm interested to find out what leads you to conclude E. atropurpureus for yours? - just in case the ones here are the same.

three things persuaded me 1) as it is a collected tree, where we dug the owner stated this species 2) Europeus has a shiny leaf and atropurpureus does not 3) europeus has clumping berrys and this has singular berries? Also it was the closest i could i.d it with on google.

Great colour Bodhi. The seven trunks give me the impression that they shall be a bit crowded once the branches start to fill in however that may not be the case if the leaves reduce significantly. Time shall tell. The only negative I have is that most of the trunks look pole like for the first third of their length. Obvious when in the winter shot, not so much when in leaf. As I have no experience in clump style this may be how they usually grow Regardless I am looking forward to see this tree progress.

As above, it was collected and the trunks were already in place and to thick to move. I hope to move the attention to higher up with tons of ramification.

I found this -

European spindle tree E. europaea [exotic]: the identification of this close relative of E. atropurpurea can only be made with certainty at flowering time. The European species has greenish white flowers in late May as compared to the maroon flowers (in June) of the native wahoo. The European spindle tree holds its leaves much longer into the fall, and the twigs tend to be thicker and more rigid than wahoo. However, due to variability in both species, the two are occasionally so similar vegetatively (including the root sprouting) that without knowledge of the flowers, the nearly identical fruit should be left alone – or the flower colour should be verified in late May.

so will also have to check the flowers (note North American season quoted) in spring. Greenish white or maroon should be obvious!
