Osakazuki Maple or Deshojo Maples

I have a friend looking for availability of Osakazuki Maple or Deshojo Maples in growing pots nearing readiness for potting.
Do not have to be large specimens.
Or if you know a nursery in Victoria that may have some stock.

I came across a wide variety of red leave japanese maple at bunnings nursery. Would I be able to make a bonsai out of one if I am to cut the tree off just a few inches above the roots and grow it in a pot?

Guy is right Ozzy. Most named Japanese maple varieties are grafted so if you cut below the graft the buds that grow from the stump will be ordinary Japanese maple.

You can sometimes find cutting grown Japanese maples. If you cut one of those the new buds will be the same variety.

Ray Nesci's bonsai nuresry in Kenthurst, NSW has Japanese Maple Deshojo trees, you could call him and ask for shipping price. I have a few growing myself, and they are beautiful indeed. They start out with a beautiful red, and then gradually change to a strong green. In fact, I find these have been more hardy than a few of my regular Japanese maples. I find they are also more resistant to problems than Red Japanese Maples. A lot of stock from nurseries are grafted, especially the cut leaf red japanese maple varieties. But you can find red japanese maples and deshojo from bonsai nurseries. Just ring around be prepared to drive a lot.
