Diatomite on the Central Coast
Hi all. I'm visiting the central coast at the moment near tuggerah and was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere to get diatomite around here. I haven't been able to get it where I live.

Hi dansai. I live on the coast, but not sure where you'd find it. You can try ringing 'The Big Flower' at Ourimbah, they are helpful and may know. Otherwise, try ringing Lee Rowans nursery at Ourimbah, they may be able to point you in the right direction.dansai wrote:Hi all. I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

Hi Dansai
I don't believe you will find anywhere other than Enfield produce in Sydney.
That is where most of us on the Central Coast go when we need a bag or two.
If you belong to a bonsai club near your home it may be worth considering doing what we do in that we pool our diatomite and zeolite orders and buy 1 - 2 pallets of each directly from the respective supplier / miner each year.
Regards
Steve

Try Blackwoods Tuggerah.
I get Mt Sylvia Kleensorb at my local Blackwoods for $17/bag.

Re: Diatomite on the Central Coast
You could try phoning a few rural supply dealers - we have several around Brisbane and the Darling Downs and which sell it as kleensorb and it is cheaper than if buying as bonsai mix.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will probably try the ring around when I get home. I can't spare the time while I'm here as I'm working through the opening hours of most places or a trip to Enfield.
