Seems like yesterday was a great success. I wonder why it didn't work in WA.Pup wrote:It has been tried and was a big flop. Will not try again, sell from the club shows.rolfster wrote:Mount Nasura wrote:Would love to see something like this in WA!

Hi All,
What a great day!
We got an angophera a few casuarinas and 3 little cockatoos from Janet Shelby ( sorry I didn't get back to you with the $5 I will do it )
I think we all owe a great deal to Steven for promoting Aussie natives I really hadn't tried them very much until I started visiting this site. Now I'm hooked!
We packed the bag 3 times finally got it all to fit( we visited a bonsai nursery on the way to the airport) and made it to the airport with 1 minute to spare----- the best part is we had 27 kgs of plants ( including bag) and there was no excess baggage
Yippee
Steve

Re: AusBonsai Community Market Day - 8th March 2014
As I couldn't make it up there myself, I sent my parents to have a look for me. I gave them strict instructions on what to look for and what I was after. Overall I was happy with the stock they brought back, with one exception.
One of the stall holders decided to lecture them on how I would not be able to work on an 8year old fig they wanted to buy as I dont have enough experience. As I looked at the tree over the dinner table I had to question his belief, as the tree is an elm.....
Apart from that small snafu, I love the stock and pots thay got for me, and other stall holders were really helpful.

Wow, looks like it was an awesome day! Very envious! This could definatley be turned into an annual gathering I think, it'd be great just to come over and meet everyone, even if I couldn't buy

Have a question? The AusBonsai Wiki most likely has the answer!

Re: AusBonsai Community Market Day - 8th March 2014
Congratulations Steven, what a great event! I particularly liked that it was held 'outdoors' - such a great time of year for it. It was really good to finally meet some interstate Ausbonsaiers face to face
including Steven, Ken, Rick, Grant and Janet ... great to chat even though my time was limited.
It was almost cathartic knowing that (due to flying back to Melb with only carry on luggage) I could only look and not touch most of the offerings
, but I had no such excuse with pots and couldn't resist walking away with one of Janet Selby's beautiful creations.
It was one of the highlights of my short trip north, and I'm sure next year's will be even bigger!

This was a great event thanks Steven and everyone else involved! I could only stay for about 30 mins which was annoying. Picked up this guy which is pretty cool!
