Procumbens Juniper
While going through my files I found this old picture of a procumbans which I'd forgotten about completely. It was sold (which I regret now
) a few years back but I wonder if the buyer could show us how it's doing now? I would love to see how it's coming along!!

Re: Procumbens Juniper
Its like an adoption contact agency isn't it. Please someone reach out to my child and let me know how they're doing.
Been there myself a few times too. Before the internet it was impossible as many moons ago I sold a few to members at clubs / friends, but just another great resource we have at our hands here. Nice tree. I wouldn't have sold it either, just to rub your nose in it.

Re: Procumbens Juniper
Ouch, yep, I would regret having let that one go too.
Lovely tree Treeman, as usual.
Is it natural deadwood or was it a Phoenix? Either way, looks great.

Thanks. No it's all one peice. I hate phoenix! The dead wood was made by stripping and carving with jin tools and finished with broken glass.Nate.bonsai wrote:Ouch, yep, I would regret having let that one go too.

That's an excellent specimen!
Did you do all the work yourself? And do you have a before photo?

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

You know cutting the bark at the base of the branch, stripping the wood from the top down till you are happy with it and finishing of the by scraping and shaving with a piece of broken glass. (which is the best tool for that job)

Yes it came from the front yard of my old place. It was started before I had a computer and a camera.Jarad wrote:That's an excellent specimen!

Re: Procumbens Juniper
Never heard of broken glass being used... makes sense why it would work - and work well - though. Might try this myself... just need to find something I'd be allowed to break hahatreeman wrote:CoGRedeMptioN wrote:???treeman wrote:The dead wood was made by stripping and carving with jin tools and finished with broken glass.

There are many ways to do things, but only one "best" way.
